Heart-stopping moment man on track jumps to safety at last second at station in Essex, UK

This is the moment staff at a station in Essex, southeast England, pulled a trespasser to safety moments before a train pulled in to the station.

In the video, filmed on Wednesday morning (November 13), a man on the line at Brentwood Station can be heard swearing at commuters who are trying to talk to him.

“Come and have a chat, come on. It’s not worth it,” one man can be heard saying.

Soon after, a station announcement declares that the 11.27 Transport for London service for Shenfield will soon be arriving at the station. At this point, one of the staff starts frantically waving his hi-vis jacket in the direction of the oncoming train while the trespassing man is still on the line.

“It’s coming now, it’s COMING!” a male voice can be heard shouting in the video, referring to the approaching train.

The trespasser defiantly holds his arms aloft as the train can be heard approaching. But at the last moment, the man moves towards the platform, jumping onto it, and is pulled to safety as the train comes to a shuddering halt.

Train operator Greater Anglia tweeted: “Following an earlier trespass incident at #Brentwood, all lines are now open.

“Network Rail and British Transport Police have now moved the person to a safe place.”
