Kolkata, which created history by first starting metro service in the country, is ready to create a new history again today. The first metro service in Kolkata started in 1984, its process continues in the 21st century. The biggest feature of this metro service is that it will run in an underwater tunnel. Also, it will be the cheapest metro service in the country. This line will be 15 kilometers. The first line is going to start with a six kilometer long line.

देश में सबसे पहले मेट्रो सेवा शुरू कर इतिहास रचने वाला कोलकाता आज फिर एक नया इतिहास रचने को तैयार है। कोलकाता में पहली मेट्रो सेवा 1984 में ही शुरू हो गई थी, इसका सिलसिला 21वीं सदी में भी जारी है। इस मेट्रो सेवा सी सबसे बड़ी खासियत है कि ये अंडर वाटर यानि पानी के नीचे बनी सुरंग में चलेगी। साथ ही ये देश की सबसे सस्ती मेट्रो सेवा होगी। ये लाइन 15 किलोमीटर की होगी। पहले लाइन में छह किलोमीटर लंबी लाइन की शुरुआत होने जा रही है।
